Food-Grade In-Pipe Heating Cable with Y-Fitting for Pipe Freeze Protection
The YeloDeer In-Pipe Heating Cable with Y-Fitting is designed to help protect pipes from freezing in winter. Installed directly inside the pipe, this self-regulating heating cable provides internal freeze protection for pressurized water supply lines, potable water pipes, cabins, well water systems, seasonal homes, farm water lines, outdoor plumbing, drain lines, sump lines, sewer lines, and other freeze-prone pipe systems.
This version includes a Y-fitting design that allows the heating cable to enter the pipe while helping maintain a straighter flow path. Compared with a traditional T-fitting setup, the Y-fitting is especially helpful for small to mid-sized pipe systems where a smoother cable entry and cleaner installation are preferred.

For Drain, Sump, Sewer & Wastewater Applications
This product can be used for drain, sump, sewer, and other non-potable pipe freeze protection applications when the pipe layout allows the cable to be inserted properly.
However, if your main application is a low-pressure drain line, sump discharge line, sewer line, septic line, or wastewater pipe, we recommend choosing a dedicated drain or sewer heating cable for a better fit and more application-specific solution.
For low-pressure drain lines, condensate drains, sump lines, and non-pressurized drainage applications, choose In-Pipe Heating Cable for Drain Lines.
For larger sewer lines, septic systems, wastewater pipes, and applications that need stronger freeze protection, choose Heavy-Duty Sewer Pipe Heating Cable.
Self-Regulating Heating Technology
This product uses self-regulating heating cable technology. It automatically adjusts heat output based on the surrounding temperature: colder pipe sections receive more heat, while warmer sections receive less heat.
Please note: self-regulating does not mean the cable turns completely off by itself.
When used without a controller, the cable will continue to operate while plugged in. For easier winter operation, improved energy control, and automatic temperature-based switching, we recommend using this cable with a compatible YeloDeer temperature controller, sold separately.
Before You Order
Your pipe system is suitable for Y-fitting installation
Your pipe size is 3/4 in, 1 in, or 1-1/4 in
The cable path maintains at least 17mm / 0.67 in inner opening
The pipe does not contain sharp 90-degree or 45-degree elbows
The internal pipe path is not blocked, collapsed, or heavily restricted
You have measured the full pipe length that needs freeze protection
Drain, sump, sewer, or wastewater applications have been checked for best product fit
Custom length, long runs, or 240V needs are confirmed before ordering
Important Installation Notice: Do not force the cable through sharp elbows, blocked sections, reduced fittings, or unknown pipe paths.

Connectors, valves, elbows, adapters, and transitions may reduce the actual inner opening |
Check the actual opening before installation.
Some pipes or fittings may narrow at connectors, valves, elbows, adapters, or transitions. The cable path must maintain at least 17mm / 0.67 in inner diameter to allow the heating cable to pass through properly.
Drain, Sump & Sewer Applications
This in-pipe heating cable can also be used for drain, sump, sewer, and other non-potable pipe freeze protection applications when the pipe layout allows proper cable insertion.
Y-Fitting In-Pipe Cable
Good when a Y-fitting entry is practical and the cable can be inserted smoothly into the freeze-prone section.
Drain Line Heating Cable
Recommended for low-pressure drain lines, condensate drains, sump lines, and non-pressurized drainage applications.
Heavy-Duty Sewer Cable
Recommended for larger sewer lines, septic systems, wastewater pipes, or applications that need stronger freeze protection.
Y-Fitting vs T-Fitting
Y-Fitting Version
Allows the heating cable to enter through a Y-shaped connection while helping maintain a straighter flow path. Best for 3/4 in, 1 in, and 1-1/4 in pipe systems where a cleaner cable entry is preferred.
T-Fitting Version
Requires a separate T-fitting and adapter. It may offer more flexibility for certain pipe layouts, larger pipe systems, or projects where the customer already has a preferred fitting configuration.
Please Check Before Use
- Sharp 90-degree or 45-degree elbows may block cable insertion
- Blocked or unknown internal routing may prevent proper installation
- Collapsed or damaged pipe sections are not suitable
- Fittings with reduced inner diameter may stop the cable from passing through
- A suitable cable entry point is required
- The cable should insert smoothly without being forced
When in doubt, send photos of your pipe layout to yelodeer@yelodeer.com before ordering.

Installation Overview
This in-pipe heating cable is installed through the included Y-fitting. The cable enters the pipe through the fitting and runs inside the pipe to help protect the freeze-prone section from the inside.
The Y-fitting design helps keep the flow path straighter than many side-entry T-fitting layouts, making it a practical choice for small to mid-sized pipe systems.
Basic Installation Steps
- Identify the pipe section that needs freeze protection.
- Shut off the water supply or make sure the pipe system is safe to access before installation.
- Cut the pipe at the planned installation point.
- Install the Y-fitting and compatible hose barb fittings.
- Confirm the minimum 17mm / 0.67 in inner opening.
- Insert the heating cable into the pipe carefully.
- Avoid forcing the cable through sharp bends or restricted fittings.
- Secure all pipe connections and check for leaks.
- Connect the GFCI plug to a properly protected outlet.
- If using a temperature controller, place the sensor correctly and set the desired temperature range.
Important Installation Notes

Temperature Controller Recommendation
A temperature controller is sold separately and is recommended for customers who want more convenient automatic operation.
Using a controller can help turn the heating cable on and off based on temperature settings, improve energy efficiency, reduce manual plugging and unplugging, and make long-term winter operation easier.
Without a controller, the cable will continue to operate while plugged in. Self-regulating technology adjusts heat output, but it does not fully shut the cable off by itself.
