Understanding Sensor Modes
This thermostat supports multiple sensing modes so you can control your floor heating based on your application.
Floor Sensor Mode
Uses the floor sensor to control floor temperature.
This is commonly used for tile, stone, and floor warming applications where protecting the floor temperature is important.
Room Sensor Mode
Uses the thermostat’s internal room sensor to control room air temperature.
This may be suitable when the floor heating system is used as part of room temperature control.
Dual-Sensor Mode
Uses room temperature for comfort control while using the floor sensor as a floor temperature limit.
This is useful when you want room comfort while also preventing the floor from overheating.
Load and Sizing Reminder
Before installing the thermostat, calculate the total load of your electric floor heating system.
Confirm:
• Voltage: 120V or 240V
• Total wattage
• Total amperage
• Circuit rating
• GFCI protection
• Wiring compatibility
Do not exceed the thermostat’s rated load.
If your floor heating system exceeds the load rating, a different control method or contactor-based installation may be required.
Schedule Settings
The thermostat supports 5+1+1 and 7-day scheduling.
5+1+1 Schedule
Useful if you want one schedule for weekdays, one schedule for Saturday, and one schedule for Sunday.
7-Day Schedule
Useful if you want each day programmed separately.
Six Periods Per Day
The six daily periods allow you to set different temperatures for daily routines such as waking, leaving, returning, and sleeping.
Adaptive Recovery / Early Start
Adaptive recovery helps the floor reach the target temperature by the scheduled time.
For example, if you set the floor to be warm at 7:00 AM, the thermostat may start heating earlier so the floor is already warm at 7:00 AM.
This is normal behavior and can be adjusted in settings if you prefer strict schedule timing.

Important Installation Notes
• Turn off power before wiring.
• Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician if you are not familiar with electrical wiring.
• Confirm 120V or 240V before wiring.
• Do not exceed the thermostat’s rated load.
• This thermostat does not include built-in GFCI.
• Electric floor heating requires GFCI protection according to local code.
• Do not use this thermostat for hydronic floor heating.
• Do not use this thermostat for HVAC, furnace, or AC control.
• Do not use a mismatched floor sensor type.
• If reusing an old sensor, confirm the NTC resistance type.
Floor Sensor Installation
The included 15 ft floor sensor should be placed according to your floor heating system instructions.
For new installations, the floor sensor is usually placed between heating cable runs, not touching or crossing the heating cable.
For replacement installations, if the old sensor is embedded and still functional, you may be able to reuse it by matching the correct sensor type in advanced settings.
Sensor Type Reminder
If the displayed temperature seems very inaccurate, or if an E2 error appears, check:
• Floor sensor connection
• Sensor wire damage
• Sensor resistance type
• Advanced sensor settings
• Whether the sensor is compatible
Using the Smart Life App
The thermostat supports Smart Life app control over a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
With the app, you can:
• Adjust set temperature
• Change schedules
• Check thermostat status
• Control heating remotely
• Use compatible smart assistant voice commands
WiFi is optional for basic thermostat operation. The thermostat can still control floor heating locally from the touchscreen.
Voice Control
This thermostat can work with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for basic voice commands.
Voice control is a convenience feature for electric floor heating temperature adjustment. This thermostat is not intended to act as a general smart home hub.
FAQ & Resources
Additional Product Questions
1. Is this thermostat only for electric floor heating?
Yes. This thermostat is designed for electric radiant floor heating systems, including electric floor heating cables and mats.
It is not designed for HVAC, pipe heat tape, roof de-icing cables, hydronic systems, or general smart plug use.
2. Does YeloDeer sell the floor heating cable or mat for this thermostat?
YeloDeer currently offers this thermostat on this page, but not the complete electric floor heating cable or mat system here.
Please confirm your existing or planned electric floor heating system is compatible before purchasing.
3. Will this thermostat work with my existing electric floor heating system?
It may work if your system is an electric radiant floor heating system, uses 120V or 240V, is within the load rating, and has compatible wiring and floor sensor requirements.
Before purchasing, check your old thermostat, heating system label, voltage, load, and sensor type.
4. Does this thermostat have built-in GFCI?
No. This model does not include built-in GFCI. Electric floor heating systems must be protected by GFCI according to local electrical code. Please consult a qualified electrician to confirm proper GFCI protection.
5. Can I replace my old thermostat without replacing the floor sensor?
In many cases, yes. If your existing floor sensor is embedded in the floor and still works, you may be able to reuse it by selecting the matching NTC sensor type in the advanced settings.
Common sensor types include 10K, 12K, and 15K. A mismatched sensor type may cause inaccurate readings or errors.
6. What do E1 and E2 error codes mean?
E1 usually indicates an internal room sensor error.
E2 usually indicates an external floor sensor error.
E2 may be caused by:
• Loose floor sensor connection
• Damaged sensor wire
• Incorrect sensor type setting
• Incompatible floor sensor
• Sensor wiring issue
Turn off power before inspecting wiring.
7. Why is the displayed temperature different from another thermometer?
Small differences can happen because of sensor placement, wall temperature, airflow, or calibration.
You can use the temperature calibration setting to adjust the reading.
However, large differences may indicate a sensor mismatch, incorrect sensor setting, or wiring problem.
8. Why does the floor start heating before the scheduled time?
This is usually caused by adaptive recovery, also called early start.
The thermostat learns how long the floor takes to warm up and may start heating before the scheduled time so the floor reaches the target temperature on time.
If you prefer strict schedule timing, you can adjust or disable this feature in advanced settings.
9. Why is only one day highlighted when I set a 7-day schedule?
In 7-day schedule mode, each day can be programmed separately.
The highlighted day is the day you are currently editing. Select another day to view or change that day’s schedule.
10. Can I monitor both room and floor temperature?
Yes. The thermostat supports floor sensor, room sensor, and dual-sensor modes. Dual mode can control comfort based on room temperature while using the floor sensor as a safety limit.
11. Can electric floor heating heat the entire room?
Electric floor heating is often used as a comfort heating system, especially under tile or stone floors.
Whether it can heat the whole room depends on room size, insulation, window area, local climate, floor covering, and heating system output.
In many North American homes, electric floor heating is used as supplemental comfort heat rather than the only heat source.
12. Can I use this thermostat without WiFi?
Yes. WiFi is mainly for app control, scheduling convenience, and remote adjustment. The thermostat can still operate locally from the touchscreen for basic floor heating control.
13. Does it support 5GHz WiFi?
No. This thermostat works with 2.4GHz WiFi networks. If your router combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz under one name, you may need to confirm that the thermostat can connect through the 2.4GHz network.
14. Can I use Alexa or Google Assistant?
Yes. The thermostat supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for compatible voice control.
Voice control is intended for floor heating temperature adjustment, not whole-home HVAC control.
15. What should I send if I need help confirming compatibility?
