Yes. This thermostat is designed for electric radiant floor heating systems, including electric floor heating cables and mats.

It is not for HVAC systems, gas furnaces, heat pumps, hydronic floor heating, pipe heat tape, or roof de-icing cables.

It may work if your system is 120V or 240V electric radiant floor heating and the total load is within the thermostat rating.

Before purchasing, confirm your system voltage, load, wiring, and floor sensor compatibility.

No, this specific model does not include a built-in GFCI. Per local electrical codes (NEC/CEC), electric floor heating must be protected by a GFCI. Please consult your electrician to ensure your circuit is equipped with the appropriate external protection.

In many cases, yes. If the old sensor is embedded in the floor and still works, you may be able to reuse it by selecting the matching NTC sensor type in the advanced settings, such as 10K, 12K, or 15K.

Using a mismatched sensor type may cause inaccurate readings or errors.

These are self-diagnostic codes to help you troubleshoot:

  • E1: Internal Room Sensor error (monitoring ambient air temperature).
  • E2: External Floor Sensor error.
E2 is commonly caused by a loose connection, a damaged sensor wire, or an incorrect sensor type selection in the settings. Always turn off the power before inspecting the wiring.

Yes. WiFi is optional for app control and remote scheduling. The thermostat can still control your electric floor heating system locally from the touchscreen.

This is due to the "Adaptive Recovery" (Early Start) function. The thermostat learns how long your floor takes to reach the target temperature. If you set it to 75°F at 7:00 AM, it may start heating at 6:30 AM to ensure it’s perfectly warm the moment you step on it. You can disable this in the advanced settings if you prefer a strict start time.

It depends on room size, insulation, floor covering, window area, local climate, and heating system output.

In many homes, electric floor heating is used as supplemental comfort heat, especially for warm tile or stone floors, rather than the only heat source.
