  • Is there a maximum amperage?

Let’s break this down clearly with calculations based on the cable’s self-regulating performance and your 50ft length example:

    First, a quick recap of the cable’s core specs (from our product details):

    • At 50°F (10°C): Heat output = 3W/ft
    • At 32°F (0°C) or below: Heat output adjusts to 6W/ft (self-regulating to prevent freezing)
    • Rated voltage = 120V (standard for this model)

    Amperage is calculated using the formula: Amperage (A) = Total Power (W) ÷ Voltage (V)

    1. Amperage at 50°F (10°C) (for 50ft cable)

    Total power at 10°C = 50ft × 3W/ft = 150WAmperage = 150W ÷ 120V = 1.25A

    2. Maximum Amperage (at 32°F/0°C or below, for 50ft cable)

    When temperatures drop to 0°C or lower, the cable’s self-regulating technology increases heat output to 6W/ft—this is the highest power mode, so it also gives the maximum amperage.Total power at 0°C or below = 50ft × 6W/ft = 300WMaximum amperage = 300W ÷ 120V = 2.5A

  • Do you have an in pipe heater for 1/2" pex pipe?

    Thanks for your question! So, our current in-pipe heaters actually don’t work for 1/2" PEX pipes—they need pipes that are 3/4" or larger. Unfortunately, we don’t have one that fits 1/2" right now.

  • If used in a toilet drain from house above the ground15ft will toilet paper hook on it and clog drain

    We have had customers use this product in toilet drain pipes, and we haven’t received any clogging complaints so far. However, please consider the size of your drain pipe. Our product dimensions are 7.9*4.9mm（0.3*0.19in）, and the outer sheath is quite smooth. If the heating cable is not bent in the pipe, the chance of clogging is low.

    Regarding toilet paper, it should dissolve in water. As long as no fabric, plastic bags, or long hair are flushed, regular toilet paper shouldn’t cause a blockage.

  • I need to put this inside a 4" pvc pipe that my gutter goes into my question is at the end of the pipe the pipe is exposed to the outside with water just pooling up there will this be a issue

    Of course, you can install the heating cable inside the 4" PVC pipe.
