Aluminum Foil Pipe Heat Trace Blanket for Outdoor Pipes, Hydrants & Small Water Fixtures
YeloDeer 14W/ft Aluminum Foil Pipe Heat Trace Blanket is a wrap-style pipe heating blanket designed to help protect outdoor faucets, water hydrants, exposed pipes, small water storage containers, farm water systems, and similar winter freeze-prone areas.
This product uses aluminum foil lining to help transfer heat more evenly across the covered surface. The blanket design wraps around the pipe or fixture, making it easier to cover short exposed sections than a narrow heat cable in certain applications.
It is a practical solution for customers who need a simple wrap-around heating blanket for outdoor pipes, hydrants, barrels, tanks, and above-ground water fixtures.
Quick Use Snapshot
Best For Short above-ground, water-filled pipe sections, faucets, hydrants, barrels, and tanks.

Important Before You Order
Use Above Ground Best for exposed or partially exposed pipe and fixture applications.
Do Not Bury Do not use for underground hydrant sections, buried pipes, or areas covered by soil.
Check the Freeze Point If the freezing section is below ground, this product may not solve the issue.
Important Empty Pipe Note
This aluminum foil heating blanket is not the best choice for empty pipes or pipes that stay dry for long periods. Because this style provides steady heat, an empty pipe may not dissipate heat as effectively as a water-filled pipe.
For empty pipes, dry pipes, or intermittent-flow applications, we recommend the YeloDeer Trimmable Self-Regulating Pipe Heating Blanket instead.
External Wrap Use Only
Use It For Wrapping the outside of above-ground pipes, hydrants, barrels, tanks, and small water fixtures.
Do Not Use It For In-pipe heating, underground burial, long-term submersion, cutting, or damaged installation areas.

Why Choose an Aluminum Foil Heating Blanket?
Short Pipe Sections Good for above-ground pipe sections, faucets, hydrants, and small fixture areas.
Wider Surface Coverage Useful when you want more surface contact than a narrow heat cable can provide.
Simple Fixture Wrapping Built-in Velcro makes it easier to wrap barrels, tanks, hydrants, and water fixtures.

Before installation, make sure the surface is clean, dry, undamaged, and safe to heat.
Single Blanket vs Two-Blanket Setup
Single Blanket Best for short pipe sections, faucets, hydrants, or small fixture areas.
Two-Blanket Setup May extend coverage when used correctly. Some paired options may include one powered blanket and one secondary blanket without a separate plug.
Check the product option and connection method before installation. Do not attempt to power a secondary blanket separately unless it is designed for separate power connection.
When Not to Use This Product
- Empty pipes that remain dry for long periods
- Underground burial
- In-pipe installation
- Long-term submersion
- Sewer or drain pipe internal heating
- Roof and gutter de-icing
- Pipes that are leaking, cracked, or unsafe
- Areas where animals may chew or damage the blanket
- Locations where the plug or electrical connection may sit in water
- Applications requiring precise thermostat control
- Applications where a self-regulating heating blanket is required
For empty pipes, dry pipes, or applications where overheating risk is a concern, choose a self-regulating heating blanket instead.

How to Choose the Right Size
Choose the blanket length based on the area that needs freeze protection.
Exposed pipe or fixture length Hydrant or faucet body size Barrel or tank area to warm Vertical or horizontal wrap Whether one blanket is enough Whether two blankets are needed Distance from outlet
Choose 3 ft For a short exposed section, faucet, hydrant body, or small pipe area.
Choose 6 ft For longer wrap coverage around a pipe, fixture, barrel, or tank.
Coverage Reminder
This Blanket Best for short, above-ground, water-filled pipe or fixture areas.
Pipe Heat Tape Better for long straight pipe runs.
Self-Regulating Blanket Better for irregular hydrants, valves, dry pipes, or empty pipe applications.
Two-Blanket Connection Reminder
If using a paired two-blanket setup, confirm how the second blanket connects. The second blanket may need to be paired with the powered blanket and may not have a separate plug.
Do not attempt to power a secondary blanket separately unless it is designed for separate power connection.
Basic Installation Overview
YeloDeer 14W/ft Aluminum Foil Pipe Heat Trace Blanket is designed for simple wrap-around installation.
- Clean and dry the pipe, hydrant, faucet, barrel, or tank surface.
- Confirm the surface is safe to heat and not damaged.
- Position the blanket over the freeze-prone section.
- Wrap the blanket vertically or horizontally as needed.
- Secure the blanket using the built-in Velcro.
- Use zip ties if additional stability is needed.
- Make sure the blanket has good surface contact.
- Keep the plug and power connection protected from moisture.
- Plug into a properly protected 120V outlet.
- Check the installation before severe winter weather.
Important Installation Notes
Above Ground Only Do not bury the blanket underground or cover it with soil.
Water-Filled Preferred Do not use on empty pipes that stay dry for long periods.
External Use Only Do not insert the blanket or heating element inside a pipe.
Keep Connections Dry Do not submerge the plug, outlet, or extension cord connection.
Protect the Heating Area Do not crush, puncture, cut, sharply fold, or secure with sharp fasteners.
Prevent Damage Protect the product from chewing animals, abrasion, standing water, snow, and direct rain exposure.
Using on Outdoor Hydrants
This product can be used on above-ground hydrants, including hydrants located inside barns or similar protected structures. Wrap the exposed hydrant area that is most likely to freeze.
Do not bury the blanket below the dirt surface. If the freezing problem is underground, this product may not solve the issue.
Using on Barrels and Small Tanks
This heating blanket may be used on suitable barrels, tanks, or small outdoor water storage containers when the surface is compatible and the installation is stable. Make sure the blanket sits securely and does not slide, fold, or bunch up during use.
Using on Empty Pipes
This aluminum foil heating blanket is not recommended for pipes that are empty or dry for long periods. If the pipe drains after each use or often has no water inside, use a self-regulating heating blanket instead.
Outdoor Power Connection
For outdoor use, plug into a properly installed outdoor-rated outlet. Use a weatherproof in-use cover. Do not allow the plug, outlet, or extension cord connection to sit in standing water, snow, or direct rain exposure.
When to Choose a Self-Regulating Blanket Instead
The pipe may be empty or dry The pipe shape is irregular You need built-in thermostat-style response You need trimmable fabric You need better coverage for valves or hydrants
