Common Questions

This FAQ section covers the most important questions customers ask when choosing between YeloDeer bucket heaters, honey heaters, and drum heaters.

If you are not sure which model to choose, contact yelodeer@yelodeer.com with your container size, container material, contents, starting temperature, and target temperature.

Choose the Digital Honey Heater if you need adjustable temperature, timer control, and gentle warming for honey or other temperature-sensitive materials in a 5-gallon bucket.

Choose the Silicone Drum Heater if you need faster heating, higher temperatures, industrial materials, or a 55-gallon drum option.

Choose the Insulated Aluminum Foil Bucket Heater if you mainly need freeze protection, heat retention, or gentle low-power warming without precise temperature adjustment.

Yes, depending on the model and temperature.

Plastic containers require lower temperature settings and careful monitoring.

For the high-temperature silicone drum heater, keep plastic containers below 100°F unless the container manufacturer specifically approves a higher temperature.

Always confirm the container’s safe temperature limit.

Heating time depends on the starting temperature, ambient temperature, container material, liquid volume, viscosity, heater power, and target temperature.

The silicone drum heater heats fastest.

The digital honey heater provides controlled medium-power warming.

The insulated aluminum foil heater is designed for slower, gentle warming and freeze protection.

They may be used in sheltered outdoor applications when the product is suitable for the material and all electrical connections remain dry.

Protect the controller, plug, and outlet from rain, snow, condensation, and standing water.

Do not use in explosive or hazardous environments.

We do not recommend heating an empty container unless the specific container and application are approved for it.

Contents help absorb and distribute heat.

High-power heaters can cause an empty container surface to heat quickly.

Only when the container manufacturer permits external electric heating and the installation meets all applicable safety requirements.

Do not use near leaks, open flames, sparks, explosive vapors, or hazardous locations.

These products are not explosion-proof equipment.

The Digital Honey Heater cycles on and off according to the selected temperature.

The Silicone Drum Heater uses an adjustable twist thermostat.

The Insulated Aluminum Foil Bucket Heater does not provide precise adjustable temperature control and should be monitored during use.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • How much does the product weigh with its packaging?

This 5-Gallon Digital Honey Heater & Bee Blanket total weight of the product, including its packaging, is 1.55 kg (3.54 lb).

  • On your Y bee 5gal Will it work in constant mode or just in a timer mode

This heater supports both constant temperature mode and timer mode, and you can choose according to your needs:

    1. Timer Mode

You can set a heating duration (ranging from 0.5 to 12 hours) via the thermostat. During the set time, the heater will work to maintain the temperature you preset. Once the timer expires, the thermostat will automatically shut off, and the "OFF" indicator will appear on the screen—this prevents overheating and saves energy.

    2. Constant Temperature Mode (No Timer Set)

If you don’t set a timer, simply adjust the desired temperature (ranging from 41–158°F / 5–70°C) on the thermostat. The heater will then work continuously based on temperature detection:

    a. When the temperature of the honey bucket (detected by the probe) drops below your set value, the heater will automatically turn on to heat.

    b. When the temperature reaches your set value, the heater will automatically turn off to maintain the temperature.

For example, if you set the temperature to 45°C (113°F) (ideal for melting crystallized honey without damaging nutrients), the heater will cycle on and off to keep the honey at approximately 45°C—no need to manually adjust the timer.

Important Note: To ensure accurate temperature detection and safe operation, please insert the probe into the dedicated pocket on the heating blanket. Failure to do so may cause the heater to run continuously without temperature control, leading to overheating risks.
