Basic Setup

Confirm the connected heating device is 120V and within 15A / 1800W.
Confirm the device can safely restart automatically when power returns.
Plug the thermostat extension cord into the outlet.
Plug the heating device into the controlled receptacle.
Position the thermostat section where it can sense representative cold air.
For outdoor use, place the connection inside a suitable weatherproof in-use cover.
Confirm the cover closes without pinching the cord.
Test the heating device before freezing weather.
