- Plan the heating cable layout, thermostat location, sensor path, and non-heated areas.
- Dry-fit the membrane pieces and trim as needed before removing the protective backing.
- Remove the protective backing and position the membrane onto the prepared surface.
- Apply firm, even pressure to secure adhesion across the full membrane surface.
- Install heating cables within the designated channels at the required spacing.
- Install the floor sensor according to thermostat and heating cable instructions.
- Verify heating cable resistance values and sensor resistance before covering.
- Apply suitable thin-set mortar over the heating system.
- Install tile flooring according to tile, mortar, and heating system recommendations.
Adhesion Preparation Reminder
The self-adhesive backing can only perform well when the substrate is properly prepared.
Clean dust, dirt, oil, wax, paint flakes, sealers, moisture, loose debris, and surface contamination before installation. Poor surface preparation can reduce adhesion and affect installation quality.
Electrical Testing Reminder
Do not skip resistance testing.
Test heating cable resistance before installation, after cable placement, and after covering with mortar or tile. Record each reading. If readings fall outside the heating cable manufacturer’s acceptable range, stop installation and inspect the system before continuing.
