Overview

Manual Line-Voltage Thermostat for Electric Baseboard Heaters

A simple electric baseboard heater thermostat for compatible 120V or 240V line-voltage heating systems. Designed for customers who want straightforward dial control without WiFi, apps, schedules, or programming.

Baseboard Heat Control Designed mainly for compatible electric baseboard heaters and line-voltage electric room heating.

120V or 240V Choose the correct voltage option for your existing heater circuit.

High-Load Heating Up to 2400W at 120V or 4800W at 240V.

4-Wire Only Requires a compatible 4-wire line/load configuration in the thermostat wall box.

Before You Order

Heater: Electric baseboard or compatible line-voltage heater Voltage: Confirm 120V or 240V before choosing 120V load: Maximum 2400W total 240V load: Maximum 4800W total Wiring: Compatible 4-wire configuration required Control: Manual dial; non-programmable WiFi / App: Not included Disconnect: OFF is not a full electrical disconnect

Check the wires before buying a replacement thermostat. The current YeloDeer specification requires a compatible 4-wire wall-box configuration. If your existing thermostat location only provides two usable conductors, do not assume this model will be a direct replacement.

Choose the Correct Voltage

120V System Choose the matching 120V thermostat option. Total connected baseboard-heater load must not exceed 2400W.

240V System Choose the matching 240V thermostat option. Total connected baseboard-heater load must not exceed 4800W.

Do not identify voltage from wire color alone. Check the heater label, old thermostat label, breaker, or actual measured voltage. Have a qualified electrician verify the circuit if you are unsure.

Important OFF-Position Reminder

This thermostat is not a true double-pole DPST disconnect. Turning the dial to OFF should not be treated as removing line voltage from the circuit. Always switch off the breaker before installation, inspection, or service.

Applications

Designed for Line-Voltage Electric Room Heating

Electric baseboard heater thermostat with simple manual dial control

Electric Baseboard Heaters

120V 240V Wall Thermostat

Primary application for manual room-temperature control of compatible electric baseboard heaters.

Thermostat Replacement

Older Dial Thermostats Manual Control 4-Wire Systems

A practical replacement option when voltage, load, wall-box wiring, and heater type all match.

Compatible Line-Voltage Heat

Resistive Heat Room Heating Wall Control

May be used with other compatible line-voltage electric room heaters when the heater, voltage, wiring, and load meet the thermostat requirements.

Simple-Control Spaces

Bedrooms Basements Offices Cabins Rental Units

Useful where basic manual temperature adjustment is preferred over smart or programmable control.

Good Replacement Fit

Existing system is line-voltage electric heat Heater voltage is confirmed Total heater wattage is within the selected thermostat rating Wall box provides the required 4-wire configuration You want manual temperature control You do not require WiFi or scheduling

Not for These Systems

24V low-voltage HVAC thermostats
Gas furnaces
Central air-conditioning systems
Heat pumps
Boilers
Hydronic heating
Electric radiant floor heating
Pipe heat tape
Roof de-icing cables
Heating loads above the thermostat rating
Installations requiring a true double-pole DPST disconnect thermostat

If your old thermostat uses thin HVAC control wires or terminals labeled R, W, Y, G, or C, this is not the correct type of replacement thermostat.

Load Planning

120V System	Maximum 2400W total connected heater load
240V System	Maximum 4800W total connected heater load
Multiple Heaters	Add the wattage of every heater controlled by the same thermostat and keep the total within the applicable limit

Do not size the thermostat from the wattage of only one heater if multiple baseboard heaters are controlled by the same thermostat. Add all connected heater loads together.

Installation

Before Removing the Old Thermostat

Turn off the circuit breaker Verify power is off with a suitable tester Photograph the old thermostat wiring Photograph the old thermostat label Check the heater voltage and wattage Confirm the wall box has compatible 4-wire wiring Add the wattage of all connected heaters Use an electrician if compatibility is uncertain

Basic Installation Sequence

Turn off power at the breaker.
Verify that the circuit is de-energized with an appropriate voltage tester.
Remove the old thermostat cover and photograph the existing wiring before disconnecting anything.
Confirm whether the heating system is 120V or 240V.
Confirm the thermostat wall box has the required compatible 4-wire configuration.
Add the wattage of all heaters controlled by this thermostat.
Confirm the total is no more than 2400W at 120V or 4800W at 240V.
Connect line and load wiring according to the supplied wiring diagram and manual.
Secure all electrical connections and mount the thermostat to the wall box.
Restore power at the breaker.
Turn the dial above current room temperature and confirm the heat indicator comes on.
Turn the setting lower and confirm the thermostat stops calling for heat.

This is line-voltage wiring. Incorrect identification of supply voltage, line/load conductors, or heater load can create an electrical hazard or damage equipment. Use a qualified electrician if you are not experienced with line-voltage heating circuits.

Do Not Rely on Wire Color Alone

Wire colors can vary between installations. A white conductor, for example, is not always a neutral in every line-voltage heating circuit. Confirm actual circuit voltage and conductor function before wiring.

Service Reminder

OFF does not mean electrically disconnected. Always switch off the circuit breaker before opening the thermostat, inspecting wiring, servicing the heater, or performing maintenance.

FAQ

Is this a thermostat for an electric baseboard heater?

Yes. Electric baseboard heating is the primary application. It can also control compatible line-voltage electric heating systems when the heater type, voltage, wiring configuration, and total load meet the thermostat requirements.

Does the package include an electric baseboard heater?

No. This product is the wall thermostat only. The electric baseboard heater is sold separately.

How do I know whether I need the 120V or 240V thermostat?

Check the existing heater label, old thermostat label, breaker information, and actual supply voltage. Do not rely only on wire color. If you cannot safely confirm the voltage, have a qualified electrician check the circuit before ordering.

What is the maximum heater load?

The maximum total connected load is 2400W for the 120V version and 4800W for the 240V version. If one thermostat controls multiple baseboard heaters, add all heater wattages together.

Can this replace my old baseboard heater thermostat?

Possibly. A replacement requires matching the heating-system type, voltage, total heater load, wall-box wiring, and control requirements. This model currently requires a compatible 4-wire configuration.

Can I use this thermostat if my wall box only has two wires?

No direct 2-wire compatibility is currently specified. The current product requirement is a compatible 4-wire configuration. If your existing wall box appears to have only two usable conductors, contact YeloDeer or a qualified electrician before ordering.

Is this a double-pole thermostat?

No. It is not a true double-pole DPST disconnect thermostat. If your installation specifically requires a thermostat that disconnects both line conductors, choose a product designed for that requirement.

Does turning the thermostat to OFF completely disconnect power?

No. The high-voltage circuit may remain energized even when the thermostat is set to OFF. Turn off the breaker before installation, inspection, or service.
